Volvo All Engines (2017 Emissions) Fault Code: P111C00 PID: EMS Compressor Discharge Temperature Too High

Volvo All Engines (2017 Emissions) Fault Code: P111C00 PID: EMS Compressor Discharge Temperature Too High

The Compressor Discharge Temperature Sensor is used to monitor the temperature of the air coming from the compressor side of the turbocharger.
The sensor signals are used for engine protection for high compressor out temperature and are monitored by the (ECU) Engine Control Unit.
The engine control module (ECM) will set a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) and derate the engine to avoid engine damage if the sensor signal is not within predetermined limits, or the signal is not rational.

Conditions for diagnostic trouble code (DTC):
1) The calculated charge air temperature output from the turbo is too high

Observable symptoms
1) Engine de-rated

Probable cause
1) Low air pressure
2) A leak in the turbocharger inlet pipe can cause hot air to be sucked into the inlet system
