– Yes, repair unsuccessful
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
1. A temporary communication error between the immobilizer system and the PCI ECU has occurred. This is often the result of:
– Keying on the ignition very shortly after it was keyed off
– Uneven start-up of systems when the ignition is keyed on
– Occasional voltage drops during engine starting
2. No or intermittent CAN communication between PCI and immobilizer ECU
3. Malfunctioning immobilizer system
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
1. The immobilizer ECU transmits the vehicle key code to the PCI ECU through CAN. The PCI ECU accordingly enables or disables the fuel supply and the starter motor.
2. When this DTC is active, the fuel is not released, and the starter motor is inhibited.
