Detroit DD15 GHG14 (2014-16) Fault Code: SPN 102 FMI 16 (MCM) Intake Manifold Pressure Too High
DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets when the intake manifold pressure is higher than expected while the engine is under a load.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Intake manifold pressure.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
Engine coolant temperature greater than 65°C (149°F).
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPICAL DURATION:
15 seconds

1.MIL

ENGINE REACTION:
None
VERIFICATION:
1. Engine coolant greater than 65°C (149°F).
2. Drive at steady highway speed with loaded trailer.
3. Engine rpm greater than 1130 for a minimum of five minutes.
NOTE: Engine derates by 10% when active.
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Inlet manifold pressure sensor connector/harness.
2. Inlet manifold pressure sensor.
3. EGR delta p sensor connector/harness.
4. EGR delta p sensor.
5. EGR delta p sensor blocked — Clean the venturi pipe.
6. EGR crossover tube and delivery pipe blocked.
7. Intake air throttle valve harness/connector.
8. Intake air throttle valve.
9. DOC inlet or DPF outlet pressure sensors.
10. DOC inlet or DPF outlet pressure sensors connectors/harness.
11. DOC and DPF pressure sensor tubes plugged/blocked.
12. Charge Air Cooler failure/leak.
