Detroit DD13 GHG14 (2014-16) Fault Code: SPN 3556 FMI 1 (ACM) Regeneration Temperature – Out of Range Low
NOTE: Before starting this troubleshooting procedure, please verify if an Advanced Diagnostic (AD) version is available, and continue with that version if available. ADs provide enhanced functionality that increase the accuracy of the troubleshooting process and are preferred over traditional troubleshooting. The ADs are identified in DiagnosticLink by the magic wand icon next to the fault, and the word “Advanced” label in the “Troubleshooting Type” field.
DESCRIPTION:
This code sets when the exhaust temperature does not increase above the modeled threshold when regeneration is enabled.
MONITORED PARAMETER:
Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC) outlet temperature sensor.
TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
1. Regeneration enabled.
2. 1100 to 2050 rpm.
3. 50% to 100% engine load.
MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None
EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Continuous when enabling conditions met.
TYPICAL DURATION:
20 seconds

ENGINE REACTION:

VERIFICATION:
Parked Regeneration
NOTE: If codes 4077-0 or 3480-1 active, fix those first.
PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. Inspect entire exhaust system for leaks.
2. Inspect all 3 temperature sensors on the DPF/DOC system.
3. Inspect fuel line from doser block assy to the doser injection valve for kinks.
4. Remove the doser injection valve and coolant block from turbo outlet and inspect for carbon buildup. If present, replace the doser injector valve.
5. Clean the doser fuel lines.
6. Perform stationary regen.
7. Replace the HC doser block assy.
