Detroit DD13 EPA10 (2010-13) Fault Code: SPN 411 FMI 1 (MCM) EGR Differential Pressure Failed (High Box)

DESCRIPTION:
This fault code sets when EGR delta pressure is too low at high speeds and loads.

MONITORED PARAMETER:
EGR delta pressure sensor.

TYPICAL ENABLING CONDITIONS:
1. Engine running greater than five minutes.
2. Engine speed 1100 to 1850 rpm.
3. Engine torque 1400 to 2800 Nm (1033 to 2065 lb.-ft).
4. Engine not in regeneration mode.
5. Engine must be in steady-state mode.
6. Intake manifold temperature greater than 0°C (32°F).
7. Desired EGR position greater than 30%.
8. Coolant temperature greater than 65°C (149°F).
9. Ambient temperature greater than -8°C (17°F) ambient.
10. Barometric pressure greater than 755 mbar (10.9 psi).

MONITOR SEQUENCE:
None

EXECUTION FREQUENCY:
Always enabled

TYPICAL DURATION:
5 min

DASH LAMPS:
1. MIL
2. CEL

ENGINE REACTION:
Derate 10%

VERIFICATION:
1. Start engine.
2. Warm up such that coolant temperature greater than 65°C (149°F).
3. Ensure engine is not in regeneration mode.
4. Ensure ambient temperature greater than -8°C (17°F) ambient and ambient barometric pressure greater than 755 mbar (10.9 psi).

PROBABLE CAUSES:
1. EGR delta p sensor failure.
2. EGR delta p connector/harness.
3. EGR delta p pressure ports blocked.
4. EGR valve failure.
5. Inspect the EGR crossover tube and mixer pipe for excessive buildup. If excessive, replaced the EGR cooler.
6. Inspect EGR system for leaks/damage/issues.
