Cummins X15 CM2350 X116B Performance Series (2018 & Newer) Fault Code: 4585 PID: SPN: 4792 FMI: 14 Aftertreatment 1 SCR Catalyst System- Special Instructions

Circuit Description
Because engines and aftertreatment components are manufactured in different locations, they are shipped to OEM customers for final vehicle assembly. The process involves both hardware and software elements in detecting the correct match of aftertreatment system to engine model during initial engine to machine integration.

Component Location
The aftertreatment SCR temperature sensor module is mounted on the aftertreatment SCR catalyst.

Conditions for Running the Diagnostics
This diagnostic runs at key ON in the first 50 hours of engine run time.

Conditions for Setting the Fault Codes
The engine control module detects that the engine has been manufactured with the incorrect SCR

Action Taken When the Fault Code is Active
The ECM illuminates the red STOP ENGINE lamp immediately after the diagnostic runs and fails.
Conditions for Clearing the Fault Code
To validate the repair, perform a key cycle, and leave the key in the ON position for 1 minute.
The fault code status displayed by INSITE™ electronic service tool will change to INACTIVE immediately after the diagnostic runs and passes.
The ECM will turn off the red STOP ENGINE lamp immediately after the diagnostic runs and passes.
The Reset All Faults command in INSITE™ electronic service tool can be used to clear active and inactive faults, as well as extinguish the MIL for OBD applications.

Shop Talk
The purpose of this fault code is to indicate when the wrong aftertreatment system has been mated to the engine during the vehicle assembly process. If this fault code is active, the aftertreatment part numbers should be verified.
