Cummins ISX15 CM2250 (2010-12) Fault Code: 3844 PID: SPN: 5605 FMI: 31 Cruise Control Pause Command- Condition Exists

Circuit Description
The adaptive cruise control system sends commands to the ECM via the J1939 data link to limit engine speed and maintain a set following distance behind a vehicle travelling more slowly than the current cruise control set speed.

Component Location
The adaptive cruise control system is an OEM-installed system. Refer to the OEM service manual for further information.

Conditions for Running the Diagnostics
This diagnostic runs continuously while the engine is running.

Conditions for Setting the Fault Codes
The ECM has detected that the adaptive cruise control system was paused for more than 30 seconds, or that the vehicle speed dropped by more than 24 kph [15 mph] during the period of time that the cruise control was paused.

Action Taken When the Fault Code is Active
The fault code will be set active immediately when the diagnostic runs and fails. This is a no lamp fault.
Conditions for Clearing the Fault Code
This fault code will be set inactive immediately after the diagnostic runs and passes.

This is an information fault code indicating that the adaptive cruise control system was paused for more than 30 seconds, or that the vehicle speed dropped by more than 24 kph [15 mph] during the period of time that the cruise control was paused. Cruise control must be manually engaged when this condition exists.
