Cummins ISX11.9 CM2250 (2010-12) Fault Code: 649 PID: SID 115 SPN: 1378 FMI: 31 Engine Oil Change Interval- Condition Exists

Circuit Description
The electronic control module (ECM) informs the driver of a maintenance event by using the Maintenance Monitor feature’s lubrication oil drain limits.

Component Location
Refer to the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) service manual for the location of the oil fill port.

Conditions for Running the Diagnostics
This diagnostic runs continuously when the keyswitch is in the ON position.

Conditions for Setting the Fault Codes
The ECM detects that, based on the programmable setting in the Maintenance Monitor feature, the engine oil and filter needs to be changed.

Action Taken When the Fault Code is Active
The ECM flashes the amber CHECK ENGINE lamp, indicating a maintenance condition, immediately after the diagnostic runs and fails.
Conditions for Clearing the Fault Code
The fault code status displayed by INSITE? electronic service tool will change to INACTIVE immediately after the Maintenance Monitor feature has been reset using INSITE? electronic service tool and the diagnostic runs and passes.

The ECM will turn off the amber MAINTENANCE lamp after the diagnostic runs and passes.

The ?Reset All Faults? command in INSITE? electronic service tool can be used to clear active and inactive faults.
