Cummins ISB CM850 (2003-06) Fault Code: 2183 PID: SID 28 SPN: 1072 FMI: 4 Engine Brake Actuator Driver 1 Circuit – Voltage Below Normal or Shorted to Low Source. Low voltage detected at the engine brake solenoid number 1 signal circuit.
Possible causes of this fault code include a short circuit to ground in the engine harness, connector, or engine brake solenoids.
On-Board Diagnostics (OBD) Information:
1)The ECM illuminates the appropriate amber or red lamp when the diagnostic runs and fails.
2)The ECM turns OFF the appropriate fault lamp when the diagnostic runs and passes.
Possible repairs:
1)Repair or replace the engine brake harness.
2)Replace the engine brake solenoid.
3)Replace the ECM.
4)Repair or replace the engine harness
