Allison 3000 & 4000 Gen 4 Fault Code: P0702 Transmission Control System Electrical (TransID)

DIAGNOSTIC RESPONSE:
Uses TID A calibration

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
The Trans ID (TID) signal is provided by a connection to HSD1 using W176 during TCM initialization. W176 is connected to High Side Driver 1 (HSD1) via W111, in the internal wiring harness. HSD1 supplies the Main Mod Solenoid, PCS4 and PCS6. This wiring configuration is designated TID A.

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC:
After TCM initializes normally and engine speed is above 200 rpm for more than 5 seconds, this test will run one time.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC:
DTC P0702 sets if the TCM is unable to determine the TransID level of the transmission.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS:
1. The CHECK TRANS light illuminates.
2. DTC is stored in the TCM history.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC:
Use the diagnostic tool to clear the DTC from the TCM history. The TCM automatically clears the DTC from the TCM history if the vehicle completes 40 warm-up cycles without the DTC recurring.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS:
DTC P0702 can be caused by:
1. Open circuit on W176
2. Open circuit on W111
3. Broken or defective connector assemblies
4. Unlocked connectors
5. Defective TCM
