Allison 3000 & 4000 Gen 4 Fault Code: P0613 TCM Processor

DIAGNOSTIC RESPONSE:
All solenoids off

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION:
The Transmission Control Module (TCM) continually performs a series of processing steps known as a “processing loop” during normal operation. The TCM must complete the processing loop within a specific time limit. The TCM resets if it does not complete two consecutive loops inside a predetermined time interval.

CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING THE DTC:
At power up or on return from reset.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC:
DTC P0613 sets if the TCM does not complete two processing loops within the allotted time.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS:
1. When DTC P063 is active, the TCM commands OFF all solenoids (SOL OFF). Following recovery from the processor reset, the TCM commands the range that resulted when the solenoids were commanded OFF. The TCM resumes normal operation.
2. The TCM does not illuminate the CHECK TRANS light.
3. DTC is stored in TCM history.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC:
Use the diagnostic tool to clear the DTC from the TCM history. The TCM automatically clears the DTC from the TCM history if the vehicle completes 40 warm-up cycles without the DTC recurring.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS:
DTC P0613 may be caused by:
1. Loose TCM bolt in OEM 80-way connector.
2. Vehicle power and ground issues.
3. Input, Output (I/O) wiring issues.
4. Chassis harness connector or wiring issues.
5. Defective TCM.
